Overall, we have not beaten a team with a winning record in conference yet, losing late leads in the two games lost. For the season, outside of conference, we've only beaten three teams who currently have a winning record.A very deceptive 15-7 record.
I won't be convinced until they beat the Murray or Jax State. We won't have to wait long as the Govs travel to Jax State on Saturday. They were very impressive tonight in their convincing win against Murray. They defended extremely well, holding Murray to 39% shooting.
Not to seem like a broken record, but until these Govs learn how to defend for 40 minutes, make free throws and play smart basketball, I'll be surprised if we make it past the OVC quarters in March.
I’m not sure exactly what pleases you honestly lol. Yes the two losses with double digit leads sucks but that’s the past. We can’t change that. Win the games you’re suppose too and the Govs have done that with the exception of the EIU game. Not to mention, we almost beat the team that was picked to win the league without a starter. This team has the potential to be very good.
Tomorrow is a big test. Heading out early in the morning for what should be a good game. Govs are coming into Jax at the right time. We’re coming off a road win that we pretty much dominated the entire game, and Jax and coming off a big home win vs that one school up north. Should be a good one
I don't consider my demands unreasonable - produce a consistent winner that makes the NCAA more than 5 times in the last 20 years. Also, win games that you're not expected to win (e.g., USF, Arkansas). That's what separates us from Murray and Belmont.
And I agree, apsufan82, we shouldn't dwell on the past, but we should learn from it and strive to be better.
