A gutty road win! of course would love to put your foot on their throat up 10 with under 3 to play but getting out with a W on the road with first place on the line is massive. Have to keep in perspective this is Figger's second year. You'd have to say they're WAY ahead of schedule.

I'll take that W. Now to dispatch with SIUE and return the favor to EIU. Then all roads lead to Valentines Day.
Terry Taylor is one of the elite players in Austin Peay basketball history. He's a Dave Loos soignee and I am glad that he stuck around.
On another note, it is clear that our off season strength and conditioning program is paying off. The year to year improvement of our guys is evident, especially with Steve Harris.

Just finished watching the replay on ESPN+.
Made it interesting in the end, but won a big one on the road, which is a big accomplishment. Observations - agree that Taylor is at a elite level and what a great feed to McGhee off the double team for the go ahead basket.
We have to do a better job against the press and with ball security.
Overall, great intensity and a W in a difficult environment!
Go Govs!

Speaking from someone that was at the game, the first 10 minutes of the game we shot lights out and was giving them no easy look and making them force contested shots. Then for whatever reason, either they figured it out or just started playing better. Us playing sloppy the last ten minutes sure didn't help either. But I think we all saw the first 10 minutes of that game how good this team is and can be. I thought for the last few weeks that we were the 4th best team out of the top 4. After yesterday we're right in the middle of of that top spot. Are their things we could do a better job at? Absolutely. But I think you could say that about any team. I know for a fact that Rick Barnes would love to see his team do things better at and they're the best team in the nation.
Good win yesterday and also, props to the JSU fan that said "how about your football team though." Gotta love the fan that brings up another sport after getting beat lol.
