This will be a tall task for the Govs and I think it will be a defensive battle, low scoring game. We all know, or at least we should, how good JSU is. Top 5 in the FCS, 25 game OVC winning streak.
Govs will be ready. I would look at this or compare it to our first two games (Cincy and Miami(OH)) and we went toe to toe with both of those. I see no reason why we can't this weekend but I think we fall short.
Of course, I hope I'm wrong but I'm going 19-10 JSU
Not a lot of scoring but a good defensive game.
Also predicting close to a sell out this weekend. So I hope the Govs can put on a good show to bring another good crowd back vs SEMO.

Wow. Biggest game that we've had in a VERY, VERY, VERY long time and no talk? I'm ready! I think we can win. JSU track record is they always seem to let a game sneak up on them. I hope it's this game... and I think we have a shot. Things would have to go perfectly a fast start a couple of turnovers. If we can find a way to add the freaks on the outside in the mix it's a wrap! We just need to be able open up other teams a little more with a vertical threat. In order to win this game we will have to throw for 150 yards and at least two completions over 25 yards or more.... thoughts?

Jax St will probably come heavy at the run game so yea the Govs will definitely need to throw the ball a lot more than they have the last few games.
Something else to factor in, 80% chance of rain Saturday morning with thunderstorms developing through the afternoon. A good chance this will factor during the game.

This is a measuring stick game. I’d say in a 7 game series JSU would win 4-2. Winning is a culture that takes a bit and while AP has made great strides in that department pretty spectacularly! All the credit in the world goes to Healey, his staff and players. Hopefully he is here a long time and builds a dynasty like North Dakota State and like JSU has to an extent. I give this one to JSU based on experience alone. They know how to win in tough environments on the road. Talent wise we aren’t too far off just less experienced. 24-17 JSU.

JSU still the standard in the ovc. However, if we keep improving I would love to see a healthy rivalry. JSU would love to see any rivalry. We are the only team poised to give that to them. Next year it will be more of a ballgame as we will be stronger in the trenches. Let's win out get our OL healthy and get an at large bid. Still a lot to play for!

I'm pretty sure they were the standard before this weekend lol.
25, now 26 wins in a row within the conference is impressive. Especially considering there were at least 3 teams in the Top 25 within the last couple weeks. I've been saying several years now that the OVC is a tough conference.
As far as Saturday goes, I was a little disappointed on a couple of things. 1) the crowd. We had more fans at the Morehead and Martin games than we did Saturday. Don't get me wrong, both previous games were as important as this one. But with the opportunity the Govs had, the more fan support, the better. And I think that had something to do with the play on the field too. This is partially not the "fans" fault though. I've been saying for years that the city of Clarksville does not support APSU the way it should. I know a lot of us on here give a lot of crap to the LC but in my opinion, I think they've done very well this year following the Govs and doing a better job of putting stories online and on Facebook as well. Anywhere you go around campus and on College St there are banners on every light pole. Step up city of Clarksville! We have a good team, a good program, great facility and an awesome tailgate alley. Show up!
2) Something the Govs HAVE to work on whether its this season or next is the passing game. JSU stopped the run forcing us to throw it and while it went better than I thought it would, it still needs work. If anyone takes us out of the run, we're going to be in trouble.
Disappointing loss Saturday but a prime opportunity to bounce back and ruin TSwho's homecoming this week at Nissan Stadium. I'm almost willing to bet that TSwho is regretting scheduling the Govs for their homecoming lol.
Let's Go Peay!
