Barnes was unbelievable this week at Novadell. He shot a 199, becoming the first APSU golfer ever to shoot under 200 in three round play. The Govs beat Leroux's Mizzou team by nine strokes. Third place was 28 strokes off the Govs. Talk about a beatdown. Barnes wins the thing, Brian Balthrop gets fourth (beating old high school teammate Ryne Fisher who finished t-13) and Luke Sherrod gets fifth.
Barnes is a JR. Balthrop and Sherrod are SO. This is a relatively young team, but very composed on the golf course. I think this is the third straight tourney that Barnes has been in the final pairing.
Leroux's a character. He did a lot for the sport in Clarksville. No telling how many trophies are floating in courses across the country with Austin Peay on them. remember his theory on championship ring eitquette? You're only allowed to wear a ring from the previous season.

TSU is better this year, but what the govs are doing is great for past players, and for the OVC. I wish them the best all year. Ya'll have great players, but they are better people. Kirk is doing a great job there.
BTW...I still wear my OVC ring from 1989. I guess I'm a loser!
