What is everyone's thoughts and is anyone going to the game? Possibly tailgating?
From what I have read on the Racer board, Casey Brockman, a redshirt freshman is starting on Saturday.

I believe this would be a good thing for the Govs defense to get out there and lay a couple good hits to get the redshirt freshman rattled up. If our offense can gets their heads out of their butts, we should win this game with no problem. Mu**ay has had problems on offense (which explains why they're going with a new QB) and I don't think its going to get much better for them against this Govs defense. If our offense plays like it did last week against JSU, expect a close game.

Hasn't Peay been playing a freshman QB too? Looks like he has struggled, as has the entire APSU offense. The Racer defense has been very stout this season and particularly the so 3 of the last 4 weeks. Any offensive production and the Racers should get Win 3. It has been a very disappointing year for the Racer football program and fans.

Agree, if we go with freshman qb again, you willbe able to stack 8-9 on the line to stop run

I think the freshman qb is doing a great job. Yes he has had turnovers, but look at the other qbs we have on the team. What have the other qbs proven, how to lose? Coach Christophel is doing a great job with the kids he has. Once this senior class, some whom are not his, is out of here I'm sure he'll be glad.

I might be crazy but I didn't think any of these seniors were Rick's recruits. And I think just the opposite, he will hate to see them leave!

Did I mention our offense playing any better? No I didn't. You're right, we have been playing with a freshman QB and he has done better than I have expected him too. Similar to Brockman, he's a redshirt freshman being thrown in during the middle of the season. I think Ryan has done a good job with what he has to work with and he has a great arm and great potential to be a great QB for the Govs.

I hate to be a downer, but I don't see Ryan as being that great a QB in the future. I know we all have our own opinions so it's all good, but the comment about Rick being happy when the seniors leave? How?
Leading tackler/defense stud Daniel Becker...gone. Kit Hartsfield, another good linebacker..gone Nick Clark, Tyler Trent, Chris Newell....to name a few more that make their prescence known are going to leave. The Defense, unless the younger guys step up next year will struggle even more so than this year. Or unless we go back to a scheme that works.

Peay will have NO problem winning this game. The Racer football program is a POS and hopefully you will be seeing Matt Griffin for the last time.

Defense struggling? Have you not watched the same team that I've been watching? IMO, they've played their butts off and have done a great job.
And give Ryan time. He's only started 3 games and he's a redshirt freshman? I think he'll be a good one but only time can tell.

ApsuFan82, I was talking about the defense in the future, not as of right now. Many of the leading tacklers on the team are Seniors this year, but yes the defense has been playing great as of late. Especially with how we started the season on defense. The only thing that is keeping us out of ballgames is our offense (can't always run the ball every play).
Today against Murray, we had too many three and outs. That killed us. We forced three turnovers, they force one (pick six) but yet they still come out with the victory.

This was a tough game, from players to coaches to execution, all sub par from last 3 games. Like the Tech game, this one was very, very winnable. I would say that AP had better coaches and players. An interesting note, many of Murray's solid players were from Tennessee, Henry County, Nashville, East Tennessee, Jackson, Memphis and several from Ft Campbell. They came into our area and beat us with our own players

How can you say AP had the better players and coaches? Murray obviously had the better defense. The APSU coaching staff made some incredibly bone-headed calls that swung the game, especially the 4th and 2 when they went for it at midfield just before the half. That defensive stop switched momentum and the Racers ran the 2:00 drill to perfection with a walk-on true freshman QB taking his first career snaps today. It was a good, close game, but the better team won today.

Brockman isn't a redshirt freshman. He's a true freshman walk-on

As much as I hate to say it, I agree. Christophel and staff made some bone head calls. The 4th & 2 you're talking about and then the call that puzzled me was when we went for it on 4th down on the drive after Mu**ay tied it at 10. We're at the 35 maybe 38 yard line which would've been a 52 yard FG maybe? And Stansill had already kicked a 52 yard FG with the wind and he could've done it again but no, lets go for it since its worked SO well for us. We have a kicker, LET HIM KICK! Would it have mattered in the long run, no. But that was the momentum swing if you ask me.
